Conditions Treated
Back Pain
Back pain is the number one cause of disability in people aged 18 - 46, and the second leading cause of missed workdays. Back pain is generally due to poor posture and lifting techniques, failure to seek medical care following an accident, failure to receive adequate treatment for back injuries, and decreased physical activity. Chiropractic care focuses on the cause of your problem and does not rely on medication for short-term relief of symptoms.
Neck Pain
Recent studies show that at any given time more than 10% of Americans are suffering from neck pain. The neck is comprised of many delicate and pain sensitive structures, and is frequently exposed to abuse and stress that may result in neck pain. Some common factors involved in neck pain are incomplete recovery from past injuries, poor posture, and prolonged sitting. Regular spinal alignments generally help to prevent neck pain due to these sources.
Lower Back Pain
More than 80% of Americans report suffering from lower back pain at some point in their lives. Lower back pain is the leading disability reason stated in workers' compensation claims. When left untreated, lower back pain can severely restrict mobility. Most lower back problems, which result in lower back pain, require proper treatment in order to achieve complete rehabilitation.
Headaches
There are many different types of headaches including migraines, tension, cluster, sinus and cervicogenic just to name a few. Misalignment and irritation in the neck are major contributors of referred pain into the head. When this irritation gets bad enough these structures in the spine put pressure on the nerves in the area causing significant pain. Chiropractic does an excellent job of addressing these issues and correcting them by restoring normal movement back to the neck and relieving pressure to the sensitive nerves.
TMJ
Many people suffer from problems associated with their jaw. Clicking, popping, limited/painful opening or closing, and an altered ratchet motion are very common complaints that people see their dentists or orthodontists without much help. Just like the joints in your spine the joint that makes up the jaw can become misaligned with altered motion and pain. This can account for all the different symptoms and can also contribute to headaches. Some patients may even complain of pain in the ear since the TMJ is in the same vicinity! Chiropractic helps restore the normal motion and function back into the jaw helping alleviate the pain and other symptoms.
